USCG HOUSTON COC INSPECTIONS

USCG Houston is experiencing COC inspection delays due to human resource shortages, resulting in delays of more than 10 days for some vessels.

We suggest making COC request as far in advance as possible.

USCG Galveston, Texas City, Freeport requires the vessel have verifiable cargo orders for their port before they will conduct a COC inspection.

COVID @ HOUSTON

COVID VACCINE:

The Houston International Seafarer’s Center is working with Workplace Safety Screenings and are offering on board J & J vaccinations for crewmembers.

Please note that supplies are limited and vaccines are only available first come, first serve. They cannot be reserved.

The vaccine team charges $150/hr (3 hour min) to vaccinate the entire ship (whether 1 seafarer or 25).

The vaccine cards will be issued and provided upon completion.  After they have registered the vaccinations with the State of Texas, a certificate will be issued.  Upon receipt of all the crews’ certificates, they will be emailed to the agent. The vaccine card and certificate should be kept together; this will assist in showing proof of the vaccine internationally.

COVID TESTING:

Rapid COVID-19 test (results in approx. 20 minutes) cost $400 per test.

PCR standard COVID-19 test (results in approx. 48 hours) cost $350 per test.

PCR quick result COVID-19 test (results in approx. 90 minutes) cost $475 per test.

OFF-SIGNERS:

CBP Houston is currently not permitting off-signers to stay in hotel to wait for their flights home. They must go direct for vessel to IAH for their flights.

Valid C1-D USA visa is required for all off-signers by CBP Houston, on very rare occasions will exception be made by CBP Houston.
